Not All New Construction Experiences Are Created Equal... Here's Why That Matters

I recently toured a few new construction homes with buyers, and we had two very different experiences that I think are important for anyone considering building or buying a brand-new home.

At one community, the sales agent was incredible — friendly, welcoming, and really tuned in to what my buyers were looking for. He walked us through each model, pointing out thoughtful details and potential upgrades, and made sure we had his full attention. He even followed up right away to answer questions and worked around my buyers’ schedule to be available. It felt like he truly wanted them to find their perfect home.

At the next builder? The homes were beautiful, and the location was spot-on… but the experience felt cold. We were greeted with a rapid-fire list of bullet points, no real questions about what the buyer was looking for, and very little warmth or enthusiasm. No follow-up, no personal connection.

Here’s the takeaway:
When you’re shopping for a new build, you’re not just buying a home — you’re buying into the experience of the builder and their team. A great sales rep can make you feel confident, excited, and appreciated. And while the home itself matters, how you’re treated matters too.

If you’re exploring new construction, I can help you navigate those differences, ask the right questions, and make sure you feel seen and heard — not just sold to.
